FOUR! FOUR! Dhawan on a roll

He drives beautifully through the covers for four after having spanked a full toss through the same region on the very first ball he faced.
DC are 11/0 after 1 over.
We’re ready for DC’s reply
Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw will open the innings. Chris Morris will bowl the first over.
RCB 152/7 in 20 overs
RCB did not get the flourish they were after as Anrich Nortje bowled an excellent final over that went for just seven runs and returned two wickets.
RCB have 152 to defend and with the dew expected to fall, this will be a tough work for the bowlers.
Stay tuned to follow DC’s chase.
150 is up for RCB!
That’s something for the bowlers there. Nortje gets AB and Isuru Udana in the last over to choke RCB.
WICKET! AB de Villiers run out (Rahane/Pant) 34 (21)
AB falls in an attempt to get back on strike. He tries to clear the fence on the second ball of the final over but couldn’t hit it past the man at long-on. He calls Washington Sundar back for two runs but Rahane, the man in the deep, knows which end to throw the ball to. He throws it to the long end (the striker’s end) and Pant whips the bails off before AB could make his ground.
RCB 145/5 after 19 overs
AB de Villiers is at the crease. How many will RCB get in the last over?
WICKET! Dube c Rahane b Rabada 17 (11)
Another slower ball there but this time it’s short in length and ends up outside off. Dube fetches it from there and pulls it towards mid-wicket.
He hits the ball off the bottom of the ball and hence fails to get the requisite power. Rahane takes the catch in the deep.
Rabada tries to keep the ball away from Dube. He bowls it wide of off stump but Dube reaches the ball and hits it over covers towards the longest part of the ground for four.
Rabada runs in for the 19th over and bowls a low full toss first ball. Rabada misses his yorker and AB hits that over mid-wicket for a huge six. That ball went 88 metres.

Dube says “I can hit this thing as well.”
A low full toss there by Sams and Dube smashes it over wide long-on for a much-needed six.
AB gets a boundary. Sams bowls a slower one that’s full in length outside off stump. AB hits it over mid-off for a one-bounce four.
RCB need more of these.
Only five runs off the 17th over – RCB 117/4
This is excellent death bowling by Delhi. Rabada gives away just five off the 17th over even with AB de Villiers at the crease.
RCB need a big finish in the last three overs.
WICKET! Morris c Pant b Nortje 0 (2)
This was the last ball of the 16th over and Morris came charging down the wicket in an attempt to slap the ball over the off side.
He gets a top edge that takes the ball to the ‘keeper Pant, who grabs a simple chance.
RCB are enduring a mini-collapse here or what?
WICKET! Padikkal b Nortje 50 (41)
Nortje foxes Padikkal with a slower ball. Padikkal showed all three stumps to the bowler as he gave room, perhaps to hit over the infield.
Nortje darted in a slower ball and Padikkal was through his shot a bit early. The batsman loses his stumps.
AB nails a six after a mishit on the previous hit. He thumps this full ball from Nortje over long-off for a 77-m six that just cleared the boundary.
Fifth IPL 50 for Padikkal!
Padikkal brings up his fifth IPL fifty. He gets there off 40 balls after having come in to open the innings.
This is his maiden IPL season, mind you, and he has had an absolute blast.
RCB, though, still need some fireworks as they head into the final timeout of the inning at 103/2 after 15 overs.
Padikkal gets a boundary, at last, as RCB bring up their 100. Sams bowls a short ball that’s slower in pace, giving Padikkal time to pick his spot and pull it through square leg for four.
Spinners doing the job for DC – RCB 90/2 after 14 overs
Axar finishes his quota of four overs as well. While he hasn’t picked up any wickets, despite creating a chance against Kohli that was put down, he has given away just 30 runs.
RCB 83/2 after 13 overs
Ashwin finishes his spell with figures of 4-0-18-1.
He has bowled very well tonight and has accounted for the big wicket of Kohli.

RCB 81/1 after 12 overs.
Padikkal gets cheeky. He walks across the stumps to the off side and ramps this ball over the ‘keeper’s head.
Ashwin chasing the ball and Kohli running between the wickets mean that three runs were to be taken.
RCB 68/1 after 11 overs
Both Kohli and Padikkal have started taking more risks and have been hitting the ball in the air. The boundaries, though, haven’t been as frequent.
They are still going at just over 6 runs an over.
This will hurt. Especially Nortje.

Dropped! Nortje drops Kohli!
Oh Anrich Nortje, what have you done?
Kohli finally decides to take some risk and hit Axar Patel in the air. He doesn’t get the timing right and the ball lobs in the air. Nortje comes running in at long-on, grabs the ball even as he sits down on one knee but the ball pops out of his hand at the last moment.
RCB 56/1 after 9 overs
RCB need a move on. They will be bowling second and the dew effect means they need some extra runs up front for the requisite cover for their bowlers.
50 up for RCB – 52/1 after 8 overs
RCB have brought up their 50 in the eighth over. They have nine wickets in hand and AB de Villiers is yet to come.
One of the two batsmen at the crease should look to take a few more risks.
Only six runs from Ashwin’s second over – RCB 46/1 after 7 overs
Ashwin goes for six in his second over despite conceding a boundary. Padikkal has played some exquisite shots but the RCB run rate is still only 6.57 runs per over.
They may look to be more aggressive at some stage.
Padikkal is on song.
Ashwin drops this ball slightly short and wide of off stump. Padikkal goes deep in his crease, gets on top of the ball and cuts this ball between point and third man for four.
Padikkal shows he has the ability to carress the balls to the boundaries. Angled across from Nortje and Padikkal opens the face of the bat to guide it fine down the third man region for four.
RCB are 40/1 after 6 overs. End of Powerplay.
Kohli has arrived.
There was nothing wrong with this ball but Kohli is too good.
He punches this good-length delivery off the back foot and splits the gap between cover and extra cover as the ball speeds away for four.
Padikkal is looking to be in great touch here.
He plays his third lofted drive and connects successfully. He drives this full ball by Rabada over cover-point this time and the ball runs away for four.
WICKET! Philippe c Shaw b Rabada 12 (17)
Rabada comes into the attack and strikes with his first ball!
Philippe gets a leading edge on the ball as he tries to loft the ball over the infield. The ball flies over the cover region, where Prithvi Shaw takes an excellent catch even as he had been backtracking with the ball.
The opening partnership has been nipped in the bud before it could fully flourish.
Rabada saves a boundary – RCB 25/0 after 4 overs
Another beautiful shot by Padikkal. Nortje pitches full again and Padikkal plays an aerial drive again, this time over mid-off.
Rabada gives chase and dives full-length to stop the ball from touching the boundary rope and manages to cut it off.
Great effort by Rabada.
Padikkal gets going with an extended cover drive that almost carries the ball for a six.
Nortje pitches it full in the length and angles it across the lef-hander, Padikkal frees his arms and hits it over the infield for four.
Anrich Nortje has been introduced in the fifth over
Kagiso Rabada hasn’t bowled yet. Nortje comes on to bowl his first over in the fifth of the innings.
